Paper Presentation (15%) + Quiz Questions (5%)
Each student will present one paper (with a partner) and lead a discussion of its strengths and weaknesses. Sign-up will be available on Bruinlearn and must be completed by the start of Week 2. Students who do not sign up will be randomly assigned.

Each paper presentation is allocated 30 minutes. The format is flexible (talk, live demo, creative format), but your goal is to clearly communicate the key ideas of the paper. Your team must also prepare **3 quiz questions** testing core ideas from the paper. These should be challenging and designed to assess genuine understanding. Quiz questions (with answers) are due **3 days before your presentation**, and should be emailed directly to the instructor.

Paper Quizzes (20%)
Quizzes will be posted on Bruinlearn before each class and will remain open for 24 hours. Each quiz will contain 6 questions (2 per paper) and will be graded for correctness.

Class Participation
Attendance is not mandatory but strongly encouraged, as in-class discussion is an important component of learning. If you need to reschedule your assigned presentation, please arrange a swap with another student and notify the instructor in advance.

Final Project
The final project must include both a learning and a robotics component. Group work is encouraged (2–4 students). Projects may build on your existing research if relevant, but pre-existing work will be graded with higher expectations.
Deliverables:

Proposal (5%): A 1-page document including problem definition, related work, a potential solution, and a timeline. Submit via Bruinlearn by 11:59 PM on the due date.
Elevator Pitch (5%): A 2-minute oral overview of your project idea.
Presentation (15%): A 15-minute in-class presentation summarizing your project outcomes.
Final Report (35%): A 5–8 page report submitted via Bruinlearn by 11:59 PM on the deadline. **No late reports will be accepted.**

Late Policy
Extensions may be granted for research-related travel or conference deadlines. Exams or assignments for other courses are not valid reasons for late submission. Without prior approval, late assignments will be penalized 20%. No final project reports will be accepted after the posted deadline.
